⭐Response process:
- These graphic organizers follow the response process: explore, connect with the text, and go beyond (generalize).
- Analysis worksheets are also included; however, these are optional if your ESL learners do not have the required proficiency level to complete the tasks.
⭐The graphic organizers focus on the following skills/strategies:
- Before reading activities (predicting, information about the novel, genre)
- Information about the author (Author’s biography card)
- Discussion questions (Students are required to record the questions they wish to discuss with their peers. – Use these when students are reading a whole-class novel or when several students are reading the same novel.)
- Note-taking worksheets while reading (Two is provided, but print as many copies as your students need.)
- Character portrait
- Plot
- Summary
- Conflict situation and themes
- Connect with the text worksheets
- Memorable quotes
- Narrative point of view
- Figurative language (symbols, imagery, metaphors, hyperbole, similes, and personification)
